Brendon Urie’s Hero’s Journey Triptych
A play on the hero's journey trope, this visual narrative focuses on three out of nine sections about the singer/songwriter of Panic! at the Disco, Brendon Urie.
The story begins as Brendon opens a mysterious book from a fan that, upon reading, says that another dimension is in need of help. Unsure at first whether he should help, Brendon's dog and now-mentor, Bogart, convinces Brendon to use the portal to the other dimension. He gives him the Devil's Key as his weapon, allowing him to fight stronger and be more immune to injuries.
Once Brendon has fought off the warriors and saved the people of the other dimension, he starts to doubt himself and how great of a person he can be. He just wants to make himself and his fans happy, and doesn't know if any of this journey is worth it. But the heavenly Father, his record label owner Pete Wentz, comes from above to tell Brendon that the only way to make sure all of his fans are happy is to finish the quest and return home. Pete sends him on his way, granting him immortality and the ability to travel from one dimension to another, but only if he carries the much sought-after Devil's Key.
On his way home Brendon gets lost, and Bogart comes to his aid again to take him out of the other dimension and into his world, where Brendon returns to his bedroom and retrieves the book that brought him along his adventure. He forever holds the Devil's Key and the power of the immortal.
